Additional Services
We are not called Clarity for nothing – so here is what is not included in our fixed fee, and why, together with the estimated cost of the additional services:
1. Limited Company Formation
Setting up a limited company involves more than just the incorporation of the company. You need guidance on issued share capital, shareholdings, tax and VAT set-up, handholding through your first few months as a Company Director. This advice will shape your entire contracting career. Also, a number of our customers come to us with a company already incorporated, and if we included this in our standard fee it would be reasonable for them to expect a fee reduction!
One-off charge: £125 + VAT per company
2. Tax investigation insurance
We work closely with contractor insurance specialists who can cover you in the event that your tax affairs are investigated by HMRC. Tax investigation cover will cover you in the event that you need representation and any help when defending yourself against HMRC, including - of course - IR35 status enquiries.
Cost: Around £115 per year via our Online Shop
3. IR35 Contract Reviews
We work in association with the leading employment status companies in the industry, who can provide a rapid IR35 opinion on your contracts for a one-off fee. We recommend that IR35 contract reviews are conducted by employment status / tax specialists rather than accountants.
Cost: £85 + VAT per contract via our Online Shop
4. Professional Indemnity Insurance
Not every contract demands that you have in force a PII policy, therefore we don’t inflate our fee by adding this to the package. You can take out Professional Indemnity, Public & Employers' Liability cover via our recommended insurance provider.
Cost: From £144 per year (depends on company turnover and other factors) for PI cover, and from £92.50 for business liability cover. You can gain an instant quote via our Online Shop.
5. Additional Tax Work
If you come to us with a tax “history”, our tax experts will be happy to try to help you, but as this is unrelated to your ongoing career as a contractor we cannot cover this in our fixed fee package. Additionally you may have numerous sources of income in the tax year other than that derived from your career as a contractor, and this may also lead to us having to charge an additional fee. We will be happy to provide a quote should your circumstances merit this additional service.
